Samuel Hushaw died suddenly on Thursday afternoon of apoplexy at his home in Shawnee Township. Mr. Hushaw was a farmer 78 years of age and had spent his entire life in Fountain County where he was born. He had never married and lived alone in a cottage built in the Hushaw woods. He is survived by four brothers, WC, Julius and George Hushaw all of Shawnee Township and Thomas Hushaw of Rossville. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the residence of WC Hushaw. - thanks to Adina

Samuel HUSHAW, a farmer of Shawnee Township died suddenly Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock in his cottage where he lived alone.  Apoplexy was given as the cause of his death.  Mr. Hushaw was born September 18, 1842, in Fountain County where he spent his entire life following the occupation of a farmer. He never married and for many years has lived alone in a cottage built in a well-shaded nook of the beautiful Hushaw woods.  He is survived by four brothers, WA, Julius and George Hushaw, all of Shawnee Township and Thomas Hushaw of Rossville, Ill.  Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home of WA Hushaw. – kbz
